Diversity and inclusion report 2022

The Diversity and Inclusion Report 2022, Our Diverse Workforce, helps diversity and inclusion (D&I) and human resources (HR) practitioners and others working in D&I and those are interested in D&I issues. The Report provides an overview of the current state of D&I in the Australian Public Service (APS). It features insights, opportunities for improvement and presents case studies of current practice.

Our Diverse Workforce is a snapshot of the state of diversity in the APS. It allows agencies to benchmark their individual achievements against the broader APS. The rest of the report dives deeper, exploring the stories behind these figures, and charting the journey of the APS as we work for diversity, inclusion and a sense of belonging for all employees.

Responsibility for D&I strategy actions sits with individual agencies. The Australian Public Service Commission (APSC) sets the strategic direction and is responsible for telling the narrative of change across the APS. This report starts telling the story of the APS and where there may be opportunities for change, complemented by examples of D&I actions taken by agencies.
