Meet Rachael, one of our newest team members here at the Australian Public Service Commission (APSC). Rachael joins us from a small regional town on the South Coast of NSW. A key priority of APS Reform is for the APS to become a model employer. This includes implementing new flexible ways of working, and supporting the recruitment of staff from across Australia. This helps people like Rachael to better seize opportunities and careers in the APS.
Rachael joined the APSC after hearing about the flexible work at the APS. Rachael started applying for APS roles from her regional town and it paid off. She’s now a proud member of the APS, contributing her unique skills and perspective to the organisation.
The APS is committed to creating flexible workplaces that embrace diversity and meet the expectations of the Australian community and our workforce. In April 2023 the Principles of Flexible Work in the APS were released to improve workforce resilience, help employees balance their work and personal priorities and help the APS recruit new staff from anywhere in Australia.
