Help the APS attract and retain great people by sharing your story

The Future of Work Taskforce within the Australian Public Service Commission is seeking nominations from employees within our agency to attend a co-design session to shape how we position the APS as an employer of choice for current and prospective employees.

We are looking for ongoing and non-ongoing employees from across all locations, functions and classification levels to come together to share your stories and experiences of working in the APS. This will help develop the APS Employee Value Proposition (EVP).

What is an Employee Value Proposition?

A strong EVP sends a clear, consistent and authentic message about the experience of working in an organisation. It helps attract, engage and retain employees in a competitive employment market.

The APS EVP will help us to understand and share what employees like best about working with us. It will also help build the diversity of our workforce by drawing out the perspectives of people from all backgrounds.

How can you be involved?

The APSC, with Services Australia, is hosting half-day, in-person co-design sessions in Melbourne on 26 April, Brisbane on 27 April and Canberra on 28 April. The APSC’s Future of Work Taskforce will hold additional virtual sessions in early May and will announce dates and times soon.

Participants can be from any function, classification, discipline or location, but you must be ongoing or non-ongoing APS employees. The most important thing is that you come willing and prepared to collaborate and contribute within a co-design environment.

If this sounds like you, please first discuss your interest and your capacity to be released with your manager, before submitting your nomination to participate in a co-design session by completing this online form.

Nominations close on Wednesday 12 April 2023.
